Hello fall! So long Cubbies BAseball :\

Chili cheese burritos consumed since previous blog

Hello! I appreciate you popping in and checking out the blog! Lots of randomness and maybe a dive in to some doodles that were done for practice not too long ago.

Also before we get too far, yes its true. We’ve added two chili cheese burritos since the last blog bringing us up to a whopping 4 burritos consumed. I say we keep the chili cheese counter up until either A). I get food poisoning once again or B). They remove the item from the nostalgia menu. I’m hoping for A)!

I am currently writing this on Sunday night around 9 pm cst. As I’m writing my wife is currently giving Ollie a bath while listening to Opalite from the new Taylor album. I’ll post the song at the top of the blog

Like I said – its Sunday night, the day after the Cubs Game 5 lost to the Brewers. The featured image of this post was a throwback to the 2016 World Series.

The above image was taken at the centerfield bleacher entrance. The 2016 was such an amazing baseball season for us Cubs fans, I’ve never seen anything like it before or since. There’s so many stories I can recall (especially one about my wife MrsBork and her first trip on an airplane – we can probably put that in a blog someday).

But the story about the picture above starts at a screen print shop in Sterling, IL. It was one of the coolest jobs I’ve ever been lucky enough to have. During the season it was hard not to get caught up with what all was going on. Between Kris Bryant being an absolute unicorn, to Kyle Schwarber blowing out his knee early in the season.. there’s not a lot of lineups that I can remember but if I tried hard enough, I feel like I could name at least 95% of people that were on that roster.

Anyways, during the playoffs I was dabbling with different artwork – at this time you would hear all sorts of stories about the curse of the goat. This artwork was a goat in form of ghost busters. We printed up I think 250 hoodies and headed up. We camped the entrance early assuming we were going to compeltely sell out and make a quick fortune – didnt really happen that way lmao! After paying for the vendor’s license including hanging out in Wrigley DURING THE WORLD SERIES.. I think I made out with maybe $75. THE STORIES OF GAME 3 AND 5 WILL LITERALLY LIVE ON FOREVER AND WAS WORTH IT ON THAT ALONE.

Shout out to this year’s Cubs team – they overachieved and dominated the first half of the baseball season and came back to earth the second half. I appreciate the series and obviously wish we won it, but I do believe in order to become the best, you gotta beat the best. Currently in the NL Central that is the Milwaukee Brewers.  Good luck to yall – you’ll need it against the Dodgers.

I know last blog I discussed gaming and playing Minecraft and such.. really havent gamed too much lately, I was busy the past week. I do want to share a drawing process that I recently did.

The artwork was random items I found on Pinterest. I sketched, then outlined, and then inked..

The process of doing this is so enjoyable with my drawing tablet. I feel like its really changing how I am designing and I’ve been enjoying going through this process. I’ve been thinking about maybe doing another design that can be a print. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve added anything to the Merch Shop. Stay tuned, I got a couple of ideas bouncing around.

On that note, going to bounce out. If you’ve made it this far I appreciate you mucho! I have been actively scheduling posts on socials lately (Facebook and Insta) – and I’ll try to start posting a little more on Snap.

Have a good one!
